Two bills in the Pennsylvania legislature would cause irreparable harm to our state’s regulatory and energy conservation efforts.
SB 805
The Pennsylvania Senate will vote to gut our state’s energy conservation programs. These programs have been crucial for reducing our carbon footprint, reducing air pollution, and saving consumers money on their electricity bills.
This bill allows Pennsylvania’s largest utility companies (and largest polluters) to not pay their fair share into these important programs, putting the cost of energy conservation and efficiency on the backs of those already struggling to pay their electric bills. The Senate could vote on this bill this coming week.
Call Senator Gordner (717-787-8929) and Senator Yaw (717-787-3280) today and ask them to defend Pennsylvania consumers and oppose SB805.
Any day now, legislators could vote on a bill that would allow frackers and other polluters to block environmental protections they don’t like–all they would need is the support of one legislator.
This bill has already passed the House. Tell your state senator to vote NO on this legislation to turn Pennsylvania into a polluter’s paradise.
Call Senator Gordner (717-787-8929) and Senator Yaw (717-787-3280) today and ask them to choose clean air and water over corporate interests and oppose HB 965 and SB 562.
