Building Sustainable Solutions weekend
September 30, 2016 - October 2, 2016
Wild Goose Farm will host a Building Sustainable Solutions weekend workshop Friday, Sept 30th-Sunday, Oct 2nd supported by an Environmental Education Grant from the Department of Environmental Protection. Johnny and Leah Tewksbury will teach us how to install drip irrigation with low tunnels for extending the growing season and conserving water (while making growing less labor-intensive). Kathy and Dave will demonstrate how to build simple worm bins for vermicomposting. David Owen will teach us to build solar water heaters – low maintenance, energy saving way to heat water without the complication and expense of photovoltaics. Local artists may also join us to find ways to integrate these green solutions aesthetically into different landscapes. Let us know right away (at [email protected]) if you would like us to reserve a space. We will have room for only twenty participants. This three day workshop is free for members. Non-members are welcome for a small fee. Work exchange is available.
Save the date of June 3rd 2017, when we will host a Building Sustainable Solution Festival to demonstrate what we’ve learned during the fall weekend.
